It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I share with you the news that our beloved deacon, Joseph Dorlus passed away early this morning. Deacon Joseph was a faithful husband, father, and deacon. His passing is a great loss for the Archdiocese of Boston. He served as a member of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, the Diaconate Community Board, and was a leader in the Haitian Apostolate. We do not have arrangements for his wake and funeral at this time but I ask that you keep Deacon Joseph and his wife Marie, and his entire family (immediate, extended, and church) in your prayers.
A wake service will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish 1548 Blue Hill Ave, Boston, MA, on Friday, December 10, from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
The funeral mass will take place again at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish on Saturday, December 11 beginning 11am.
The internment will be at Oaklawn cemetery, 427 Cummings Highway, Boston, MA.
Deacons are invited to vest (Boston White) and sit together as an Order.
Condolences can be sent to Deacon Joe’s wife, Marie at:
27 Thatcher Street
Milton, MA 02186
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
Deacon Christopher Connelly
Director for the Permanent Diaconate
